About our company
The Past
Vanjak Rigging Supplies was established in 1980 and so this year we will be celebrating thirty years of serving the aerial and satellite industry. David and Agnes Hamill invested all of their “life’s savings” to start something that we had no experience in at all! The money involved was the princely sum of £700!
Since that time we have grown to be one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of products for the aerial industry in Ireland. We distribute our products through a network of distributors and wholesalers throughout all of Ireland as well as at our own trade counter.
Delivery to our customers involves our own Mercedes vans, DHL Securicor, and various other transport firms. Customer care and stocking only quality products have always been our objectives. We have never claimed to be the cheapest suppliers but we believe that we can claim to be ranked among the best.
Over the years we have sought to establish a friendship with all of our customers because we feel that in an impersonal world this is very important. Customers need to feel wanted and respected and hopefully we have achieved this objective.
In writing this brief history of Vanjak many memories have come flooding back! Like Agnes delivering twenty-foot masts on the roof of a little mini-van. Or loading vans and manufacturing brackets in the middle of the night!
The name Vanjak is simply made up of the names of Agnes, our two daughters and a friend who helped us in the early days. It has been the topic of many customers’ queries and some of their suggestions as to the name’s meaning or origin have been rather amusing!
We stock all of the popular manufacturers range of products and if at all possible we will supply every item requested by our customers.
We manufacture under the brand name “Tyson™” and again a little explanation would be helpful. Contrary to popular opinion Mike Tyson is not involved at all! We have always had dogs and in the past years we have stuck with the bullmastiff breed. They are strong, reliable, owner friendly and enduring dogs. One special dog that we had was called Tyson and he had all the qualities that we wanted our products to have and so the name was born. He is now dead but his qualities live on.
We can plan our customers commercial systems at no charge; we also offer technical advice regarding both design and equipment. We also have an arrangement with our main suppliers that they will also help with system design and planning.
Launching our web site in just another natural progression and we hope that it will offer further service to our existing customers and attract new ones. We do not want to lose the one to one contact with our customers and so we invite either visits to our premises, or telephone calls. We will welcome any suggestions as to how we can improve our service or make our web site more user friendly.
The Present
It is not possible for every business to be No 1 and that is not our aim. Rather we want to be known for our service and commitment to our customers. We want to offer the best products at the best price that we can. We will not ever be involved in installation of aerial equipment because that would be unfair to our customers. It is our firm belief that it is unfair and unwise to attempt to be a wholesaler and an installer at the same time and so we will concentrate on being just a supplier and do that to the best of our ability.
The Future
We aim to continue serving the aerial trade as long as God gives us the health and strength and we always want to be remembered as an honest business whose word could always be relied upon. We thank you for taking the time to read this brief overview.
